These sources do not belong in External links. I have moved the link farm from there to this talk page where they do belong. Warning: I didn't check them to see if they follow criteria per WP policy, so be careful in choosing any potential references I've moved here. Thank you!

Second generation

"Aloe Blacc (born Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III[1] in 1979) is an American soul singer, rapper, and musician. He is a first-generation African American with parents born in Panama." No, if he was born in the U.S., this makes him second-generation. --153.98.68.197 (talk) 11:50, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry.. whoever you aze. It appears that the author of those words is both right and wrong. In Immigrant generations it states that a "first generation American" is (in most cases) "A citizen of the country who is a naturalized immigrant, or a citizen whose parents are naturalized immigrants. However, saying he's an African American but both his parents are from Central America in Panama is incorrect. While his ancestry may be of African origin, he's a Panamanian-American if you want to split hairs over race. The way I view it, we are ALL of the same origin far enough back, but that's another topic entirely! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:32, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's pointless trying to state what the guy is as a 'fact' - the only relevant question is how he identifies himself. If we don't know, then we shouldn't speculate - and in any case I'm not sure why it matters in the context of the article. Right now the article describes him as a "first generation man"; if that's really accurate, I think that should be the focus of his article, not whatever song he has recorded... 121.44.227.246 (talk) 12:33, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The next big thing

- Did a little-known album called 'Shine Through' - Follow up was 'Good Things': a huge hit - Simon Cowell & SonyBMG bought out the rights from Stones Throw in December 2010 - Next album / single will be huge - 12 months time will be collaborating with the likes of Kanye West / Jay Z - Will be a major proponent of propelling the new soul sound, a clear departure from hiphop/rap as we know it. - Keep this post here in discussion, mark my words.

- Why was the listing of his collaborative album with Japanese producer Cradle removed? Can someone work it in again? - Its called "Open your Mind", and as a group they call themselves "Bee". It came out in 2009. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.238.89.194 (talk) 05:47, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
