Slim Shady is a fictional character/alter ego created by the biggest selling rapper of all time; Eminem. Eminem came up with the character of Slim Shady in 1997, think the name up while on the toilet. He created this name because when D12 was formed, there was originally supposed to be 12 members but in reality, there was only 6. So all the members of D12 decided to come up with different personalities and Eminem chose "Slim Shady".[1] Slim Shady is seen as the "darker side" of Eminem, aswell as the "comical side". Slim Shady has appeared on nearly all of Eminem's albums (with the exception being Recovery) aswell as the two D12 albums, one Bad Meets Evil album & countless guest appearances by other artists (e.g. Forgot about Dre by Dr. Dre & Patiently Waiting by 50 Cent). Slim Shady also stared in and was the titular character for The Slim Shady Show along with Marshal Mathers, Ken Kaniff, & (in one episode) Eminem.[2]
