Hey [[User:Stuartyeates|Stuartyeates]] keeps proposing Zappa articles with notability that I made be deleted. He recently proposed "I'm the Slime" be deleted despite it's popularity even among non Zappa fans just because it didn't chart or win awards. - Please invite these and any other similar groups to join the discussion about this proposal. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory to find similar WikiProjects.

- Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

- Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- The subjects of these groups are far too general to cover the entire (and in this case, quite extensive) work of one specific musician. There are well over one hundred articles that pertain to Frank Zappa, and not all of of them fit under the umbrella of any particular Wikiproject.

Discussion
When is this project going to start? Do we need more editors? --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 00:51, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
The WikiProject Council will decide whether or not the project is warranted first. That will take time. Friginator (talk) 01:04, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Right now, judging from how long it's been on the council page, I'd say it is warranted. No one from the WikiProject council has declared it "no importance" or anything like that. But I'd still prefer to leave the proposal here for a while just to make sure. Still, if anyone wants to create the page Wikipedia:WikiProject Frank Zappa, I'd be fine with it. There's no rule against it. Friginator (talk) 18:32, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Um I have no idea how to do that... it looks so different from making other pages... --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 19:02, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. I do. I'm working on a potential project page right now. I'd still prefer for there to be at least a dozen editors before starting something like this, though. Friginator (talk) 00:54, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Hey Stuartyeates keeps proposing Zappa articles with notability that I made be deleted. He recently proposed "I'm the Slime" be deleted despite it's popularity even among non Zappa fans just because it didn't chart or win awards. I think the editors of this project should keep aware of him incase he decides to propose the deletion of another. --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 10:33, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- I'm the Slime is as secure against deletion as its substantial discussion in independent reliable sources over time - nothing to do with popularity, and little to do with awards. I'm saying it's pretty secure. --Lexein (talk) 12:55, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- I have to say, I don't think Advance Romance was an especially notable song either. But when something is a single, I'd have to agree.Friginator (talk) 16:36, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
