:A: I think it's a good idea to give users several chances to "repent", so, yes.

:A: Yes, unless it's an "only" warning. I actually think that 3 is probably enough, because if they vandalize three times, it's usually bad faith and intentional. In most cases, 4, but possibly earlier if the user is making constant, intentional vandalism.

:A: I very big vandalism or repetitive, constant vandalism.

:A: Yes, because they have the right (if on their talk page) to remove notices, and on Wikipedia that means that they have been read.

:A: Not necessarily, because the user may have had good faith.


Q7) The vast majority of vandalism comes from IP editors... but the majority of good edits are also made by IP editors. Should Wikipedia require registration?

:A: No. I think that the amount of vandalism is small compared to the amount of useful edits made by IP editors. Besides, registration usually does not prevent vandalism.
