Transition, not to be confused with a disbanded Pittsburgh punk group of the same name, is an English rock indie band hailing from Bristol. They lend their style to the influence of U2, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, and were voted amongst the Top Ten Bands in the UK on Channel 4's Slash Music Showcase.[citation needed] Formed in 1997, Transition is made up of the brothers Jesse Edbrooke (guitarist) and Josh Edbrooke (drummer) together with Niall Dunne (guitarist).

Having toured extensively in the UK and Europe, the band has developed a connection with the far east. Since first visiting Taiwan in 2005 to join the Spring Scream (春天吶喊) and Formoz (野台開唱) music festivals), the band continued to widen their sphere of influence in Asia, performing in Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore over the next few years. In 2009 Transition decided to base themselves in Taipei, Taiwan, staying for around 3 years, living, writing, performing and collaborating with other artists in the Asian scene.

Their first mandarin Chinese song '對不起我的中文不好' became a youtube hit and brought the band into the popular spotlight in Taiwan, as well as endearing them to Chinese learners all over the world. The band also produced a short film in 2011, documenting the remarkable story of how they came to develop such a strong connection with the far east, and showing something of the life of the band in Taiwan.

Most recently Transition cooperated with the Chinese Taipei (Taiwanese) Olympic commission to produce the official theme song for the Chinese Taipei Olympic team as they went to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
