This sports-related WikiProject is believed to be inactive. Consider looking for related projects for help or ask at the Teahouse.
If you are not currently a project participant and wish to help you may still participate in the project or its parent project WikiProject Sports. This status should be changed if collaborative activity resumes. |
Please note that this WikiProject is very new, and could use all the help you can give
This WikiProject is a community of Wikipedians who share an interest in extreme sports and who wish to improve the general quality and accessibility of Wikipedia's extreme sports articles. It is an effort to coordinate the work of Wikipedians who are knowledgeable about extreme sports, to minimize the frequent damage done to extreme sports articles, and to improve the quality and range of articles on extreme sports.
The world of Extreme Sports is characterized by enormous amounts of individualism, talent, and courage. However, it is sometimes besieged by the media as something that only "rowdy teenagers" do. Here on Wikipedia, we want to set the example for the rest of the media world by writing and maintaining only the highest quality articles. It is likely that our participants will be younger than participants in other Wikiprojects, and may be more technologically savvy. We commit to using the unique talents of all our contributors to produce Gold Standard articles.
Scope and Goals
The scope of the project includes all extreme sports-related articles in this category.
The goals of this WikiProject are:

Standards and practices
General practices
Extreme Sports articles should have the {{Xsports}}
template placed at the top of their talk page.
Extreme Sports articles should be categorised as such. (Add [[Category:Extreme sports]]
to the bottom of the page)
Discuss adding more general practices.
Readability
Must be clearly legible by members of the public, this means that we can't really use our own lingo like 'fakie zerospin souls', because they won't have a clue what we're on about.

Task Box
{{XsportsTasks}}
is a list of open tasks.
To add the pretty boxed version seen, use {{XsportsTasksBox}}
instead. (Note: Both are case-sensitive.) The task box looks like this:
This list will be regularly updated by volunteers with pages that need attention.
Project pages
Putting {{Xsports}}
at the top of a page will add this notice to it:
This message should be placed on talk pages of relevant articles.
Stubs
We need a stub tag to be made...
