"Default" is a 2012 single by the English band Atoms For Peace. It was released as a digital download on 8th September 2012.[1] and is to be released on 12" vinyl on 19th November 2012. [2]

In an interview on BBC Radio 1, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien explained that "The Daily Mail" had been "kicking around for at least six years"; when the band decided to perform the song for From the Basement, a final arrangement "came together within a week", featuring a brass section arranged by band member Jonny Greenwood.[3] In an interview for BBC 6Music, O'Brien explained that "Staircase" was worked on before the recording of The King of Limbs, but did not progress beyond the demo stages until after the album's release.[4]
