Camberwell High School is a prestigious state school for boys and girls in Years 7-12 in the Canterbury suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Canterbury is a middle/upper class suburb of Melbourne and therefore has produced the surroundings for School of considerable repour to open. Camberwell High being considered one of the best public school in the state after notable entries such as Melbourne High and MacRobertsons Girls School. School Philosophy

History

When General Macarthur and his accomping US Army took over Melbourne High in 1941 as their barracks, the Melbourne High students moved out to Camberwell to continue their education during the war years. At the end of the war in 1945 when the US troops left and the Melbourne student returned to their school, Camberwell High was opened

The names for the houses were derived from war heroes and leaders of World War II. As Camberwell High School was opened in 1945 after the completion of the war, the houses were named after the leaders of the United States and the United Kingdom as well as the US and British Generals.
