Mount Darwin or Karanda is a town in Zimbabwe.
Location
The town lies in Mount Darwin District, in Mashonaland Central Province in northeastern Zimbabwe. It is located approximately 160 kilometres (99 mi), by road, northeast of Harare, the capital and largest city in that country.[1] The coordinates of the town are: 16° 45' 54.00"S, 31° 34' 30.00"E (Latitude:16.7650; Longitude:31.5750).

Karanda attends to anywhere from 10 to 20 surgeries and between 200 to 300 outpatients daily.[2] ZB Bank Limited, a commercial bank, maintains a branch in the town.[3] Mount Darwin is also served by Mount Darwin Airport.

The current population of Mount Darwin is not publicly known. In 2004, the town's population was estimated at 6,350.[4] The next national population census in Zimbabwe is scheduled from 18 August 2012 through 28 August 2012.[5]
