Joachim Witthöft (23 September 1887 – 7 July 1966) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Joachim Witthöft was captured by British troops in May 1945 and was held for several months.
