== Birth == |

Sufi Budhal Faqir opened in eyes in the village of Baksh Unar where his father Abdul Wasih used to be called Wasu. His Father was a person of calm and humble nature. It was the time of British colonization. Everywhere was peace and tranquality, social evils were not so common those days. Person with with small land would lead a prosperous life by farming. Everyone was having better days of his/ her life. But it was not the time of happiness for Abdul Wasih for he was issueless.<ref>{{cite web|last=Lashari|first=Tariq Hayat|title=Dur-e-Nayab|url=http://www.scribd.com/doc/104258812/Dur-e-Nayab-Biography-Hazrat-Budhal-Faqir-Sufi-ul-Qadri|publisher=Tariq Hayat|accessdate=24 November 2012}}</ref> He dearly yearned to be the father of son. One day a bare-feet Qalander raised the slogans for alms. His father went to give that Mast Qalander some food. Having seen his humbleness and gratitude,in return, that he told Abdul Wasih "Need not worry. Very soon you will have a son. Give him the name 'Budhal'". Having said this, that Mast Qalandar went on his way. In a year's time, Sufi Budhal Faqir came in this world. About the year of his birth, Sufi Budhal Faqir used to say that when railways tracks in Shikarpur were laid in 1883 A.D. and English men set up their tents near Zarkhel road, he was at the age of eighteen. So with this tradition, the year of his birth is considered 1865 A.D.<ref>Rajani, Anand Ram.T. (1966). ''Risalo Budhal Faqir'', p. 3-4. Toufeez Ahmed, Tajiran Kutab Shahi, Shikarpur, Sindh.</ref> |

== Childhood == |
According to verbal traditions, Sufi Budhal Faqir was the only child of parents, therefore he was reared with love and affection. As he grew older, he used to go to fields with animal herds away from people at a solitary place. His parents put him in the school for worldly and religious education. But he never felt like studying there. After school time, he would spend much of his time in wildness and sleep under the shade of tree. His father would bring him home if he did not reach before sunset time. <ref>Rajani, Anand Ram.T. (1966). ''Risalo Budhal Faqir'', p. 5. Toufeez Ahmed, Tajiran Kutab Shahi, Shikarpur, Sindh.</ref> |
People used to talk between themselves that Abdul Wasih had only one son who was behaving like a abnormal being.He was just nothing but misery for his father. Having heard this, Abdul Wasih got his son out of school and gave him domestic animals for herding.Status quo remained the same with Sufi Budhal Faqir, in jungle he used to sit under the shade and animals would be on their own grazing in the fields.<ref>Rajani, Anand Ram.T. On whom divine love is bestowed, are smitten with affection |

<br /> |
Love showers in (their) hearts like monsoon rain |
<br /> |
They yearn for Beloved crying day and night |
<br /> |
On whom divine love is bestowed, do not sleep peacefully |
<br /> |
The cry of sound of creation, (they) kept in ears |
<br /> |
Hurriedly Jogis (travelers of sufi path) made the journey fruitful |
<br /> |
On whose divine love is bestowed, suffer pains |
<br /> |
Having read, they discovered the theme of love |
<br /> |
They do have great desire for such, O Budhal, giving one’s life on gallows becomes necessary |

<br /> |
On whom divine love is bestowed, leave no stone unturned in search |

Followers of Sufi path found direction of the way towards Beloved |

If you desire to be Jogi, then mend your ways correctly |

Do not tell others and live a humble life |

Those who have been blessed with divine love, do not sleep |
<br /> |
Every hour (of day and night), Lahootis (traveler of sufi path) spent in anguish |
<br /> |
They do not tell (share with) others, O Budhal, they have tasted silence<ref>{{cite book|last=Sarki|first=Niaz|title=Risalo Budhal Faqir|year=2005|publisher=Roshni Publications|location=Kandiaro, Sindh|pages=35-51}}</ref> |
