The Diplomats (also known as Dipset) are a Harlem, New York-based group who previously signed to Roc-A-Fella Records, but now are signed to their own label, Diplomats Record, which is under Koch Records. The group was founded by rappers Cam'ron and Jim Jones. The Diplomats first gained popularity following Cam'ron's re-emergence in 2002, releasing Come Home With Me, after being signed by childhood friend Damon Dash and Roc-A-Fella Records. The group released their debut album Diplomatic Immunity, which mainly featured the four main members, Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freeky Zeeky. Hell Rell also featured on their debut album. The Diplomats' biggest commercial hit was the lead single off 2003's Diplomatic Immunity, Dipset Anthem. Diplomatic Immunity was critically acclaimed, and was their only album released through Def Jam Records, which they shortly after left and signed to Koch Records

Diplomat Records also distribute artist Cam'ron through Asylum Records. Under Koch Entertainment, Jim Jones, 40 Cal, Freeky Zeeky, J.R. Writer, Sloop Jawn, Max B, Hell Rell, Tom Gist, Un Kasa and Jha Jha are also signed on as members of The Diplomats record label. London-based duo, SAS, are also part of The Diplomats. Another member, Jay Bezel, is signed to Sure Shot Records. Their current A&R is DukeDaGod. The group's sophomore album Diplomatic Immunity 2 was released under Koch Entertainment. Juelz Santana currently is the only member still signed to Diplomat Records/Def Jam Records. Comedian Katt Williams is the latest addition to The Diplomats, as he signed to Diplomat Records, a joint venture with Universal Records.

Many of their members were signed performers, and were premiered in mixtapes, but the Diplomats did not become exclusive until 2003 with their CD Diplomatic Immunity. In previous music videos when Cam'ron was starting his career you could see fellow diplomats like Jim Jones or Freeky Zeeky. The group was under controversy for showcasing shirts that read "Stop Snitchin'" in some of their music videos. In 2005, the Diplomats won a Vibe Award for Group Of The Year.

The Diplomats also have their own brand of liquor, Sizzurp. Although "Sizzurp" as a term has its beginnings in a Three 6 Mafia song about codeine based Syrup, the two drinks are actually unrelated.

In addition to street cred from mixtapes and public events, The Diplomats' image also incorporates their take on the extravagant trappings of a rapper's lifestyle, with expensive jewelry, up to date fashion, and large entourages of beautiful women. Dipset, particularly Cam'ron, is also known for popularizing the use of the color pink in urban men's fashion.
