If you have anything to say to me about articles I've created or heavily edited/contributed to, or images, or anything else uploaded or typed by me (i.e., you're a living, breathing being, and not a bot), it would be best to use the link to contact me, and NOT leave a message here. I'm on far too rarely to check. |

|||
Thanks for uploading or contributing to :File:DNA at the BBC front.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. |
|||
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.<!-- Template:Di-no fair use rationale-notice --> J Milburn (talk) 12:22, 24 August 2010 (UTC) |

== Main page appearance == |
|||
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on May 25, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 25, 2011. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director Raul654 or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a science fiction comedy radio series written by Douglas Adams and first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Radio 4 in 1978. The serial follows the adventures of Englishman Arthur Dent and his friend Ford Prefect, an alien who writes for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, an intergalactic encyclopedia and travelogue. After Earth is destroyed in the first episode, Dent and Ford find themselves aboard a stolen spaceship piloted by a motley crew including Zaphod Beeblebrox (Ford's semi-cousin and Galactic President), a depressed robot called Marvin and an Earth woman calling herself Trillian, who is the only other surviving human being. A second series was transmitted in 1980 and the first series was adapted for television. This in turn was followed by five novels, a computer game and several other adaptations. Before his death in May 2001, Adams considered writing a third radio series based on his novel Life, the Universe and Everything. Dirk Maggs eventually directed and co-produced radio series adaptations of that novel, as well as So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish and Mostly Harmless in 2004-5. My user and talk page policies
I have noted that a few other Wikipedians have started posting such disclaimers, and I feel that I must as well, as my user page and talk page have been vandalized at various times.
- Vandalism will be reverted on sight. Period.
- Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be reported on sight. Period.
- Defamatory statements will be removed AND reported on sight. Period.
I have read over MANY of the primary Wikipedia policies, and I do ask that other editors do the same, even newbies. I CAN AND WILL UPHOLD THEM.

John D. Buell
