Course descriptionBIOL / ENTM 4015, Conservation Biology at Louisiana State University [LSU], was designed to give students an in-depth and timely understanding of topics relevant to Conservation Biology. Most relevant details for the course are found on the course web page.[1] Our course was informally linked with another course on LSU's campus (Landscape Architecture [LA] 4001, Advanced Topics in Design, taught by Dr. Bruce Sharky). Students enrolled in BIOL / ENTM 4015 made contributions to Wikipedia (either by creating articles or adding content to existing articles) - contributions that are relevant to current "Hot Topics" in Conservation Biology. Students enrolled in LA 4001 served as student "consultants" and added graphics that help portray, illustrate, or otherwise enhance the content of the "Hot Topic" written contributions by the student "clients" in BIOL / ENTM 4015. End-of-Semester TimelineNov 15th: Conservation Biology students provide proposed information to be displayed graphically to their Landscape Architecture partners via Conservation Biology students' user talk pages and/or email. Nov 20th: Landscape Architecture students email proposed images to Conservation Biology partners and Professor Sharky. Please note once an image is uploaded to Wikipedia, the image cannot be manipulated, including in sandboxes. Nov 27th: Conservation Biology students provide feedback to Landscape Architecture partners for revision of imagery and/or accuracy of information via Conservation Biology students' user talk pages and/or email. Nov 29th: Conservation Biology students' final drafts of their articles are due in their sandboxes. Dec 5th: Landscape Architecture students' images revisions due.
