Stonewall F.C. is Britain's top-ranking gay football team[1] and Britain's first gay football team. They play their homes game at Barn Elms Playing Fields, Barnes, London.[2][3]

The club operates three teams. The first team play in the Middlesex County Football League Division One Central & East. The reserve team in the West End (London) A.F.A Sunday Football League and a third team play in the London Unity League [4] [5]

History

The club was founded in 1991 by Aslie Pitter.[6]

The team has steadily risen through the league and in the 2001–02 season the first team won the West Middlesex County Football League Senior Division. They did it in convincing fashion, losing only 2 games all season. This was their second championship in a row, after winning the Islington Midweek League the year before. In 2002–03 season the 1st team were promoted to the Premier Division in the Middlesex County League.

Stonewall play their home games at Barn Elms Recreation Ground, Rocks Lane, Barnes, SW13 0DG.
