Rebecca 'Beccy' Huxtable (born 12 August 1981)[1] is a British radio personality and producer, currently co-producing The Scott Mills Show with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1.
Early life
Rebecca was born in Taunton, Somerset. She attended Crispin School, going on to study journalism at Bournemouth University. [2]
Early radio career
She gained experience in radio broadcasting at local radio station, 2CRFM.[2][3]
Rebecca later worked freelance for Virgin Radio, and also briefly as a newsreader.
BBC Radio 1
Rebecca currently appears on and co-produces The Scott Mills Show, broadcast from 1pm-4pm weekdays on BBC Radio 1.[4] She has appeared on the show since April 2008, following her work with Sara Cox on the same station. Rebecca also produces The Scott Mills Daily Podcast which contains a daily slice of Scott's show.[3] Rebecca turned on the Bridgwater Christmas lights in 2010 live on BBC Radio 1.
Awards
In January 2010, Rebecca won the Funniest Radio Sidekick in the Loaded Lafta awards and The International Walker Crisp Award for eating a bag of crisps at work.[5]
Other Works
Rebecca has long been a fan of fiction, and in May 2006 along with Tasmin Mason, she co-wrote the short story Sixty Shades of Gouda. It is unclear whether or not this has any affiliation with E. L. James' cult classic Fifty Shades of Grey.
In 2009, Rebecca was inducted into The Cheese Society's hall of fame for her work in raising the profile of the cheese board[6]. Juliet Harbutt, a Member of Guilde des Fromagers and Organiser of the British Cheese Awards said of Rebecca "her enthusiasm for all things cheese is infectious".
Personal Life
Rebecca and fellow radio one DJ Chris Stark have never dated. This is purely fictional for the show. Rebecca would never go out with Chris in real life.
