Richard Yap is a Filipino-Chinese actor and businessman, best known for his role as "Papa Chen" in My Binondo Girl and in the 2012 Philippine television drama Be Careful With My Heart as "Sir Chief".
Career
Richard Yap was first seen in commercials of Chowking as a chef. [1]
In 2011, Yap launched his career via My Binondo Girl where he played Kim Chiu's father, Chen Sy. Little did he know that through his role he would gain wide recognition from fans of the series.[2]
In 2012, Yap made several appearances in the network. He played a recurring character in the top-rating drama, Walang Hanggan as Henry of Dios.[3] He is currently playing the lead role in the top rated blockbuster Be Careful With My Heart along with Jodi Sta. Maria.
Because he is considered a top talent of Kapamilya, it’s only obvious that what comes next are product endorsements. He currently endorses Beverly Hills Polo Club Leather Collection, Amigo Segurado, Magnolia Fruit Drink, Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club and C-lium Fibre.
