Zachary Michael "Zach" Cregger (born March 1, 1981)[1] is an American actor, writer, director and producer. He is known as a member of the New York City-based comedy troupe Whitest Kids U' Know. He also starred in the film Miss March, which he directed and wrote with his WKUK friend Trevor Moore.

Early life

Zach Cregger was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. He performed in various comedy and music groups there before moving to Brooklyn, NY where he joined forces with Sam and Trevor to start The Whitest Kids U' Know.[2]

When he was in high school he was in an improv troop, which was called The Nation of Improv. They would go around and do shows at malls and other high school auditoriums.[3]

He met Moore and Sam Brown while he was studying at SVA. They were staying in the same dorm. They met Timmy Williams on 9/11 who was on the other side of that same dorm. He graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a BFA and majored in Film.[4][5]

Career

Cregger and his friends formed the WKUK comedy troupe in 2000 while still in College. Later on he meet Darren Trumeter while shooting an independent film and asked him to join them.[6]

Cregger along the troupe garnered great success while performing live in NYC at famed LES music venue Pianos and also on the internet. This led to an invitation in 2006 to the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. The troupe did not disappoint, winning the award for Best Sketch Group and attracting the attention of many Hollywood executives.[7]

He had the WKUK show successfully running for five seasons first on FUSE and then on IFC.[8]

He directed his second feature film along Trevor Moore called The Civil War on Drugs. It had a limited theatrical release and was ultimately run during the fifth season of WKUK.[3]

He tours with the WKUK frequently and performs in live shows. He has participated in several independent movies.

Cregger joined the cast of the NBC sitcom Friends with Benefits, which began airing on August 5, 2011.

He is currently starring on the NBC new sitcom Guys with Kids, that began airing in September 2012.[9]
