Micah Jesse Koffler (born July 19, 1986), better known as Micah Jesse is an American blogger and television personality. His blog, MicahJesse.com,[1] is known for positive celebrity, lifestyle, and entertainment news. He launched the site in April 2007.
Biography
Early and personal life
Jesse was born in Atlanta, Georgia to parents from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. His father, Barry A. Koffler, is an orthopedic surgeon, and mother, Marcie Koffler, is an artist.
Jesse swam competitively from an early age, through part of high school.[2] Jesse's preliminary education was spent at The Epstein School, a Jewish day school, in Sandy Springs, Georgia.[3] In 2001, Jesse enrolled at North Springs High School, a magnet school, specializing in the arts and sciences.[3] There, Jesse continued to swim competitively for Swim Atlanta, participating in competitions around the country, including Hawaii.[2] He was also the co-captain of the North Springs High School swim team for two consecutive years.[citation needed] He graduated in 2005 from North Springs High School.[4]
University
Jesse enrolled at Hofstra University in September 2005 and quickly became a recognizable face among the student body. Pulse, the campus magazine, wrote a full-page feature article about Jesse titled, “True Life: I’m A Hofstar. A Glimpse Into The Life Of Hofstra’s Own Celebrity Student,” chronicling Jesse’s superior grades and internship with music mogul Tommy Mottola.[5] During college, Jesse attended charity events such as Rip The Runway For Darfur, which was covered by Gawker.[6] On May 17, 2009, he received his BA in public relations from Long Island's Hofstra University.[7] then moved to New York, New York, where he currently resides.
Philanthropy
After posting an It Gets Better video on YouTube, Jesse appeared as a spokesperson for the organization on two radio shows; on December 10, 2010 on Oprah Radio program "The Derrick Ashong Experience" and on December 11, 2010 on LA Talk Radio program "The Alternative with Terry Le Grand."[8][9]
In 2011, Jesse posed as a “Familiar Face” for photographer Adam Bouska’s award-winning NOH8 Campaign, a silent protest photo project against California Proposition 8.[10]
In April 2012, Jesse partnered with The Bully Project to raise funds for the organization, in celebration of his website's five-year anniversary.[11]
In May 2012, Jesse became the entertainment correspondent for the WWE and Creative Coalition's Be A STAR Alliance, which promotes anti-bullying initiatives.[12][13][14]
MicahJesse.com
The lifestyle and entertainment website focuses on celebrities including Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Kim Kardashian, as well as Jesse's own activities. The website's slogan is "The Georgia Peach in the Big Apple," highlighting Jesse's approach to celebrity news. "What attracts me about celebrities is the unknown, or what the media rather, doesn't care to focus on," he said in an interview.[15] The blog has been published via Wordpress since its inception.
Once dubbed "the Perez Hilton of the East Coast" by OK! magazine,[16] Jesse has since created a niche market for himself by focusing on positive celebrity news. MicahJesse.com is listed as one of Page Six Magazine's favorite gossip blogs.[17] In July 2009, Jesse was dubbed a "divo" by Time Out New York.[18] In December 2009, OK! Magazine listed Jesse's New Year's Eve party as a party to watch for celebrities.[19]
“I think beautiful is being happy no matter who you are or whatever stage you are in your life,” Jesse told The New York Observer at Paper Magazine's 2009 "Most Beautiful People Party."[20]
In the August 2010 issue of 944 Magazine, Jesse was dubbed the "Social Butterfly."[21]
Jesse announced on his blog in January 2011 that he was being sponsored by Chevrolet as one of six bloggers chosen to promote the Chevrolet Cruze, the newest car from General Motors. During the "Cruzearati" campaign, Jesse was responsible for covering the Entertainment beat and interviewing celebrities from within the car.[22][23]
In January 2012, Jesse was a judge at the Miss New York USA pageant, helping to select the 2012 representative for the state of New York in the Miss USA pageant.[24]
Television
Music Choice
In June 2009, Jesse became a co-host on Music Choice channel on the network's on-demand show "Certified." Jesse appeared on the following episodes: "Justin Bieber vs. Ke$ha," "Usher vs. Usher," "Making The Grade," "Shakira vs. Aventura," "Paramore vs. Avenged Sevenfold," "Certified: Rap Star" and "Certified: Artist of the Year.".[25]
Jesse signed on for another year at the network in April 2011, where he hosted his own red carpet segment called "Plus 1" on the network's show ""Speaking Of....""[3] "Plus 1" featured Jesse interviewing celebrities on the red carpet at events such as the Z100 Jingle Ball, Out Magazine OUT100 Awards, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
AXS TV
Jesse became a correspondent on entertainment and pop culture show AXSLive on AXS TV, the cable network from Mark Cuban and Ryan Seacrest, in September 2012.
Other Appearances
In September 2009, Jesse became a weekly entertainment contributor on the WNYW-TV (FOX 5) show "Good Day New York Online" with host Brett Larson.[26]
In 2010, Jesse appeared in Matt White's music video, "Falling In Love (With My Best Friend).".[27] He also appeared in a viral web commercial for Def Jam Rapstar with Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola from the MTV reality show Jersey Shore.[28]
Jesse regularly appears as a community member on HuffPost Live, the Internet-based video streaming network run by news website The Huffington Post, discussing everything from pop culture to politics.

In 2008, Jesse was a guest on OutQ on Sirius Satellite Radio where he talked to hosts Derek Hartley and Romaine Patterson about his blog. The blogger, who has dubbed himself "the Georgia Peach in the Big Apple," announced his blogs about celebrities would be "positive."[29]
Jesse launched his online radio show, The Micah Jesse Show, on January 20, 2009, which included updates from his blog and interviews with celebrities.[30]
