Harry's role
- Flashbacks throughout the series show Harry (who died several years previously) instructing Dexter on how to masquerade with typical human behavior, how to cover his tracks after a kill, and even how to stranglehold a target to knock them out and capture them.
My memory is porous, but I'm confident that it's a great exaggeration to say that flashbacks to lessons in technique occur "throughout the series". Flashbacks of any kind are less frequent than the conversations with Harry's ghost. Is it clear what Dexter thinks of these conversations? He knows they're not real; does he see them as manifestations of his madness, or is he merely imagining (in a format made convenient for the audience) what Harry might say?
