Sharmila Farooqi is a Pakistani politician who served as advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh from September 2008 - January 31, 2011.[1][2] She is the maternal grand daughter of N M Uqaili and daughter of Usman Farooqi, who was a bureaucrat and former chairman of Pakistan Steel Mill. She is the niece of Salman Farooqi, a well-known confidante of President Asif Ali Zardari.[3] Sharmila holds an MBA and a Master's degree in Law.[3]
Sharmila Farooqi engagement with Hasham Riaz Sheikh was held in Karachi in February 2013.
