Saravanan Meenatchi is a Tamil drama serial directed by Azhagar. It is aired on weekdays on STAR Vijay.[1] It stars radio Mirchi RJ Senthil, Sreeja, Rajasekhar and Kuyili in the lead roles.[2] The name of the serial is derived from the names of the characters of the erstwhile serial 'Madurai' starring the same lead pair.[3] The serial swept five awards namely 'Best serial', 'Best male actor', 'Best female actor', 'Best Director' and 'Best character actor' at the 43rd annual awards function organized by Mylapore academy.[4]

Plot

The story is about the love and marriage of lead characters Saravanan and Meenatchi. The traditional wedding arranged for them by their families pauses due to the animosity that arises between the families. The pair later fell in love and convince their parents to get married.[5]

Production

The wedding sequences were shot in Coimbatore and Tirunelveli by hosting an event resembling a real wedding.[5][6]
