Blessed Sacrament School is a grade K-12 school in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. It is a Catholic school as opposed to a public school. It is unique because in 2001 it burned to the ground, and while no one was hurt, 500+ kids were left without a proper building in which to study. Flames over the school's library were very large in size, and the blaze produced quite a large volume of smoke that could be seen from afar. It has recently been rebuilt from the ground up. Construction took a few years, during which the school set up a temporary location made up of portable classrooms beside two condemned ice rinks. The new school is very modern in design with a large open foyer area, and a central red staircase that leads up to the school's second level. Another highlight is the impressive cylindrical chapel with large sliding doors. |
