Bloody Roar 4, is a fighting game developed by Eighting/Hudson Soft in 2003. It is the second game in the series to appear on the PlayStation 2 and the only game in the series to have received an M rating by ESRB due to the blood effects.

Gameplay

For the first time in the series, the beast gauge acts as its own separate health meter. The game reuses the character models from Bloody Roar: Primal Fury.

New Characters

  • Nagi - a young woman curious about the power she has within her. Her Zoanthrope is the Spurious/Half-Beast.
  • Reiji - a destructive young man on the run from the monks that raised him. His Zoanthrope is the Crow.
  • Ryoho - a strong man who contains the sealed Dragon Zoanthrope. At the game's start, you can only play as him with Mana as an assist. To play as his solo form, he must be unlocked. His Zoanthrope is the Dragon.
  • Mana - a young Shinto miko determined to protect her temple. She is only playable as an assist to Ryoho. Her Zoanthrope is the Ninetail.

The Japanese voice cast includes Akimitsu Takase as Yugo, Ruri Asano as Alice, Akira Ishida as Bakuryu, Yuki Hamano as Uriko, Kenji Hamada as Shenlong, Ayaka Kodama as Jenny, Akio Ōtsuka as Gado, Tōru Ōkawa as Stun, Shōto Kashii as Busuzima, Mitsuaki Madono as Xion, Nao Takamori as Nagi, Masakazu Suzuki as Reiji, Naomi Kusumi as Ryoho, Ema Kogure as Mana, Naoki Bandō as Long, Atsuko Tanaka as Marvel/Shina, Takeshi Aono as Kohryu and Eriko Fujimaki as Uranus.
