Yamijala Siva Rama Krishna Chaitanya Sharma (also known as YSRKC Sharma, SRKC Sharma Yamijala and Chaitanya Yamijala) was born in an Hindu Brahmin family on 6-Apr-1987. At present, he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Materials Science, under the supervision of both Prof. S. Balasubramanian [1] and Prof. Swapan K Pati,[2] at the Chemistry and Materials Unit (CPMU) of Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), [3] Bangalore.
Research and Publications
His research interests mainly cover the computational aspects of the materials science. Some of his major works includes:
- A computational study to understand the reason behind the red-shift in the absorption maximum of Chlorophyll-f compared to Chlorophyll-b, where, Chlorophyll-f is a structural isomer of Chlorophyll-b. [1]
- Studying the effects of even and odd Stone-Wales line-defects on the electronic and magnetic properties of Boron-Nitride Nanoribbons.[2]
His birth place is Arasavalli, a village in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, India. His father, Sri Yamijala Ramaprasada Rao, is a well-known astrologer in the Srikakulam town. Sharma did his schooling, up to 8th class, in his village and then he moved to Little.J.K.Public School for his tenth class. He completed his Intermediate from Gayatri college.
