Southridge High School, built in 1995, was the third 4A high school constructed in Kennewick, Washington, located at 3320 S. Union Loop Road. Lying in a valley on the southwest border of Kennewick, the natural terrain of the area acts as a wind amplifier, causing heavy winds to blow through the campus regularly.

The design of the school is rumored to be based on an existing design for a prison, giving the school the derogatory nickname "Prison High". Another variation on the prison themed nickname is "Southridge State Penitentiary".
General information
The school's mascot is the Suns, and the school colors are blue and gold. Football and soccer games are played at Neil F. Lampson Stadium, which is located on the grounds of Kennewick High School. Southridge shares the stadium with Kennewick and Kamiakin High School.
