== Synopsis ==
The book tells the story of a group of people called Epics, of whom all are superpowered, and all of them are evil. One of those extraordinarily powerful persons, Steelheart, declares himself Emperor of Chicago and the legend says no bullet can harm him. He is invincible.

Only one group of resistance dares to fight Steelheart - the Reckoners. These are a group of ordinary humans who study the Epics, trying to find their weak points. David Charleston dreams of joining the Reckoners, and he has a plan to do just that. He once saw Steelheart bleed.
