Machairodontini is an extinct tribe of large saber-toothed cats of the subfamily Machairodontinae, that lived in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, during the Miocene through Pleistocene living from 11.6 mya–11 000 years ago.[1]

Taxonomy

Machairodontini was named by Gill (1872) as well as de Beaumont (1964). It was assigned to Machairodontinae by Berta and Galiano (1983).[2][3]
