Even when a user is clearly being vandalous, supplementary comments like [[User talk:75.143.107.130|these]] are not helpful, if anything undermining your efforts. You clearly are enthusiastic, which could be very helpful to Wikipedia, but please try to be more thoughtful about some of your comments and, as laid out above, some of your editing decisions. Overlinking

WP:OVERLINK states that we should not link "the names of major geographic features and locations, languages". That would include Spain. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:33, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary descriptions

Your edits on roblox about "guests" were deemed unnecessary, unless you can find proof. Contrary to the common belief, "guests" can be actually very helpful, but not know the basic principles of the internet. Ilikepie757 (talk) 03:24, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

About Roblox

Please, use neutrality and grammar very carefully. On the article Roblox, There were neutrality and grammar issues. I would like you to edit the article more carefully. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sleepinabanana (talkcontribs) 00:08, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback deployment

Hey SergeantHippyZombie; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 00:02, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion did you believe applies to this situation?

With regards to this recent edit of yours, which speedy deletion criteria is "This is an article, not a user page!" supposed to match?

I am quite aware of the fact that the contents of the subpage in question is a close copy of the current contents of James Reavis. This is because the contents of the article were copied into the subpage a couple of hours ago so that I could try some things out without putting the article in an inconsistent state. A quick check of Wikipedia:User pages#What may I have in my user pages? shows that "Work in progress or material that you may come back to in future (usually on subpages)" is a valid use of a user subpage. As there does not appear to be any valid criteria justifying your request for a speedy deletion and the utilization is explicitly allowed under current guidelines, your request has been declined. --Allen3 talk 00:53, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

guest book

am I allowed to put a guest book on my page?

  • You can find out information about what is or is not appropriate for your userpage here: WP:USERPAGE. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, project is an encyclopedia. We try to avoid turning the project into a social network. That's what we use Facebook for. Generally speaking, Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may often be deleted at any time. The ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia (please see WP:NOT for further details). As alternative options, check out WP:TWINKLE and the WP:TEAHOUSE. Twinkle is an automated program that makes it a bit easier to communicate with others and offer what we refer to as "Wikilove". You can send virtual cookies and various treats to others to encourage them or just say "hey". The Teahouse is a welcoming place to virtually sit down and "have a cup of tea", say "hello", ask questions, and offer advice. You can also contact me directly, anytime you need help or have a question. Hope you have a great weekend! Cindy(need help?) 16:19, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FYI - Article Probation on Men's rights movement

This is not a warning, only notifying you for the log. Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Men's rights movement, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Talk:Men's rights movement/Article probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. -- v/r - TP 01:28, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you recently put up this template for speedy deletion for vandalism. My question is, why? I didn't see how it was vandalism, so I removed your nomination. I'm curious to hear from you why did this. Lugia2453 (talk) 22:16, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, that's a shockingly poor edit. Lesson #1: stay out of editing disputes if you don't know anything about the subject matter or the particular issue. You're muddying the water, and you may well be helping someone in an edit war, or supporting disruption by participating. Drmies (talk) 02:51, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Hood tax (concept) vs. The Robin Hood Tax (UK based campaigning group)

Hi SergeantHippyZombie! Do you mind explaining why you reverted this? You did not leave any edit summary. The article is about the concept, but the infobox gives the impression that is it about the organization. I can explain my rational for removing it further (if you do not agree with what I wrote in the edit summary), but since your revert may have been a mistake (an IP removing 1033 bytes, etc, etc) I might as well ask if it was a mistake or if you think it should stay in the article. If so, should it be placed in the lead? 83.254.128.245 (talk) 01:45, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dear IP, you were very nice to place this message here. Had you signed in to an account, you could have done a similar thing--hit some Twinkle or Huggle button and revert their edit, without giving a summary, followed by a templated warning for "unexplained blanking of content" placed on this here talk page. SHZ, if I were you I'd remove this real quick, since it makes you look...well, you know. The IP has made more article edits than you (by a factor 50 or 100 or so), and their edits are useful, correct, and come with edit summaries. Drmies (talk) 03:57, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Biting people

Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors. Thank you. See WP:TWABUSE. Your next edit following a reversion of my work--"laughing" at an IP editor from your userpage when he or she asked you what looks to be a reasonable question about a different reversion--also seems to show that you have a problem with biting newcomers. "Get an account" is not a reasonable response to someone questioning your overzealous use of reversion tools. 2601:D:9900:2E:24AA:5268:C192:DCFE (talk) 01:48, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His entire talkpage is full of people asking for explanations for reversions. He never answers. I think this is a user who doesnt need Twinkle.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 01:58, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why is his/her IP address long? SHZ 01:59, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Srgt. HippyZombie - I need you to tell me that you understand that you should be careful when you use twinkle and that in the future you will respond respectfully when people approach you for explanations of your reversions. If you do not respond to me I will have to take your behavior up at some notice board requesting that your twinkle rights be removed.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 02:01, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't use Twinkle. I use recent changes. SHZ
I will now proceed to ANI where you can explain that you understand our policies.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 02:05, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • You do use Twinkle. I mean, duh--it says "TW" in every other edit summary of yours, except for those handwritten (and terribly written) snarky warnings you left on talk pages, like here and here. Your "message" to User talk:83.254.128.245 is completely inappropriate in tone--if you really wanted an IP editor to get an account, you've just completely pissed them off. Moreover, there is no requirement that anyone get an account in the first place. Third, you're not saying specifically where they were supposed to have removed so much information. Fourth, it is a pretty idiotic comment since the IP's edits seem to be made in good faith, are relevant to the article, and are accompanied by edit summaries.

Using Twinkle to undo vandalism is fine, as long as those edits you undo actually are vandal edits. Err on the side of caution. Read WP:TWINKLEABUSE: abuse of Twinkle can lead to a block. Use the automated warnings, at least until you learn Wiki syntax and can strike the appropriate tone. We can use editors who revert vandalism, but more than that we need editors who write content and thereby improve the project. Your edits may well turn off editors from wanting to contribute by writing content, and that we cannot have. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 03:13, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well I thought Twinkle was some sort of third party thing that requires download. SHZ 11:36, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

April 2013

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Cindy(need help?) 02:39, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SergeantHippyZombie. Thank you for your work on patrolling edits and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for User talk:199.235.101.234, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Remember to look for previous revisions that might be valid rather than assuming that just because the page is vandalism now it has always been that way. Your recent edits

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:29, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate revert

What were you thinking? The editor has every right to remove whatever talk page content they wish to remove, with the exception of shared IP templates and active unblock requests. Will you please read the guidelines suggested to you by the IP in their revert of your edit, WP:OWNTALK, WP:BLANKING, and WP:DRRC? On top of that, you never addressed the relevant points brought up in regard to your edits and reverts, and you need to do that--you are just inviting more and more scrutiny to the work you're doing here.
