Welcome!
I have been a user for quite some time; this was a tad superfluous. dci | TALK 05:11, 5 January 2013 (UTC) |

Discussion regarding Arabic-to-English proposal
We can use Google translate, and I write machine translation and then establish the understanding of, and generally, all articles are stubs --ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 08:45, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Hello. Can I also create a list of articles selected and our good and unmarked with you (because I know you are here not Ttorgomon articles characteristic of small Wikipedia because you have a larger version) to discuss with the active filter feature articles and look for someone fluent in Arabic --ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 08:57, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Hello. Tell the community (in the field): created a list of pages in Arabic Wikipedia and is in English Wikipedia (with a link to the list) if there is a fluent English and was able to translate and links, will be developed by adding hundreds of links --ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 18:38, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Talk:Bajkam/GA1
I've begun a review at Talk:Bajkam/GA1; this one's excellent work, and only needs a little work to the lead section to be approved for Good Article status. Cheers, -- 20:03, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

A nerdy correction
Hello there,
We haven't talked before, this is a random drive-by comment... I just happened to notice you saying "per say" in a talk page comment, and thought that you might be interested to hear that it's actually "per se". I hope I'm not being annoying in saying so!
Best wishes, — Hex (❝?!❞) 12:50, 6 January 2013 (UTC).

Per this question "Has Apteva violated his topic ban?" Not to my knowledge or intention, and I would expect to be the first to know. I know that PManderson was reprimanded (blocked for a year) for deliberately and knowingly violating a clear topic ban (and far worse using a sock to evade the ban). This is unfortunate, for although I have not checked their edit history, I do know that they are (were) one of the most frequent contributors to the MOS, so evidently the transition to working on other areas did not happen. I am far from that, as almost all of my edits have nothing to do with the subject of the topic ban, which I can only call the letter k ban. Apteva (talk) 05:05, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Careless edit from myself
Apologies for the recent edit on List_of_United_States_tornadoes_from_January_to_February_2013. The template removal was in error and not vandalism. It took me a while to see what actually happened, as I was trying to be careful in copying and pasting a large table from a similar page. I try to make useful edits (and sparingly), but I understand I don't have any more room for error and will do my best to steer clear of issues. Bigmac330 (talk) 22:21, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Whiteout defininition
I'm afraid that the Wikipedia definition for whiteout propagates the commonly held misconception that it may be due to an obscuring phenomena such as snow or fog.
The page correctly cites the definition as:
"A condition of diffuse light when no shadows are cast, due to a continuous white cloud layer appearing to merge with the white snow surface. No surface irregularities of the snow are visible, but a dark object may be clearly seen. There is no visible horizon."
Note: "a dark object may be clearly seen" By definition, a whiteout occurs in conditions of good visibility but you erroneously undid my corrections to this page making this point clear (pardon the pun). I would suggest you seek expert advice before doing so again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.99.98.28 (talk) 22:25, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- As I noted on your talk page, the problem arises from the removal of sourced material and its replacement with unsourced material. dci | TALK 00:37, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
You tagged the article for POV. I think I've resolved the problem; would you please look at the revised article and remove the tag if you agree? Rybec (talk) 10:08, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for checking back and de-tagging it! I wasn't the original author (made a dummy edit to clear that up).

Hi; haven't heard from you in a while, and am wondering how the review of the subject article is going. If there is anything I can be doing, please let me know.Sarnold17 (talk) 22:47, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
Notification of discussion
A few months ago, you participated in a discussion on Wikipedia talk:Did you know about Gibraltar-related DYKs on the Main Page. I am proposing that the temporary restrictions on such DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012, should be lifted and have set out a case for doing so at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs. If you have a view on this, please comment at that page. Prioryman (talk) 21:58, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Cyber attack during the Paris G20 Summit
Hi - sorry, I hope I'm doing this right... I'm a new user. Thanks for tagging the page. FWIW I just wanted to save the edits temporarily as I'm working on an old computer that crashes often. I still have a lot of work to do on that article and that includes implementing all of the sources I've collected. I don't know if there's a way to do this without letting the changes go live though. I'm sorry I'm kind of slow. If there's something I can be doing better, please let me know. Sociorobot (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:52, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

TAFI
Hello,
The Project is almost ready to hit the Main Page, where it will be occupying a section just below "Did you Know" section. Three article from the weekly batch of 7 will be displayed randomly at the main page, the format of which can be seen at the Main Page sandbox. There is also an ongoing discussion at the Main page talk over the final details before we can go forward with the Main Page. If you have any ideas to discuss with everyone else, please visit the TAFI Talk Page and join in on the ongoing discussions there. You are also invited to add new nominations, and comment and suport on the current ones at the Nominations page. You can also help by helping in the discussions at the Holding Area. Above all, please do not forget to improve our current Today's Articles for Improvement Thank you and hoping to have some productive work from you at the Project, |
New article: Kalyn Heffernan
Thank you for tagging Kalyn Heffernan. I've shifted the sequence of facts slightly for better flow, but attaining a drier tone with such a subject is a tad problematic! My main concern, though, was for her musical and production career to be properly referenced, and that's beyond my skill set. kencf0618 (talk) 04:54, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Well, as long as you've been making an effort to keep developing the article (which you definitely have), everything should be OK. I can try to help with referencing at some point, but probably not right now due to time constraints. dci | TALK 12:33, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Merry Alpern
Hi, just getting started on Wikipedia so please go easy on me. Merry Alpern is my first article and it was deleted before I had time to build on its content.
I can assure you that as a photographic artist, Merry Alpern (1955) should really appear on Wikipedia. Her work has appeared in countless galleries across the world and she is a published author of several photographic books. Alpern is also found in other photographic book compilations, especially when referred to in voyeurism and surveillance context (see Exposed exhibition, Tate 2010.). I don't want to break anything so I've started a talk page on Merry Alpern, and want to make sure it gets read - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Merry_Alpern
