Revision as of 11:52, 10 April 2013

This category contains articles about fictional cyborgs. A quintessential example would be the T-800 from the Terminator series. A "cyborg" is loosely defined here as a being with both biological and artificial parts. This definition is not perfect and requires some "common sense" to be applied. For instance, the definition would seem to allow humans with a prosthesis to be considered "cyborgs" but this seems inappropriate (see Category:Fictional amputees). Furthermore, distinction between primarily robotic or primarily organic being is not made, nor is distinction made between a being whose intelligence is organic-based or artificial.

Robots and androids are considered distinct from cyborgs and should be classified into Category:Fictional robots or Category:Fictional androids, respectively.
