Qwyrxian, here is an example of what I would like to post: |
|||
New Page : Anarkali Dress |
|||
An Anarkali Dress can be described as a long kurta which has a much more defined waistline and bust as compared to a traditional Salwar kameez suit. The kurta is fitted on the bust and normally features large pleats flowing around the legs like an umbrella. Derived from the word Kali, which means a bud. |
|||
Anarkali dresses owe their name to Anarkali - a famous courtesan in the court of a great mughal emperor. The story of Anarkali was immortalised because of her affair with the emperor's son, that ended in tragedy when Anarkali was buried alive behind a wall. |

Hello, I'm Amartyabag. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Clothing in India because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:24, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Fandemode (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

Request reason:Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:
{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=fandemode | 3=I understood that my contributions appeared as promotional, which was not my intention. I just want to add information about India and fashion, which is my passion. | 4=~~~~}}
If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:
{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=fandemode | reason=I understood that my contributions appeared as promotional, which was not my intention. I just want to add information about India and fashion, which is my passion. | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.
{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=fandemode | reason=I understood that my contributions appeared as promotional, which was not my intention. I just want to add information about India and fashion, which is my passion. | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
}}
- Strandofsilk, I fixed the formatting on your unblock request, but you need to fill in a reason why you should be unblocked. In your case, for instance, you need to specifically explain what you are going to do on Wikipedia other than spam your company. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:55, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Do you understand that you cannot link to the strandofsilk site in any way? Ever? On any page in Wikipedia? The only exception would be if the site got it's own Wikipedia article, but I see that that's already been declined three times, and probably won't happen, since 99% or more of all web pages are simply not notable enough for a Wikipedia article.
- I think something that might help me or other admins evaluate this request is if you gave an example of something you would add to a Wikipedia article, now that you know the rules. Tell us here what page you would add the info to, what info you would add, and what reliable source you would use to support that addition. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:01, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
