Why don't we split move this article to Terminator (cross-platform terminal emulator) and create a Terminator (Unix-like terminal emulator) page as well? (Seeing as it is only officially supported on Linux, BSD Unix, Unix, etc. [i.e. not Microsoft Windows]) [[User:Bgibbs2|Bgibbs2]] ([[User talk:Bgibbs2|talk]]) 06:45, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Other "terminators"

There is another terminal emulator called Terminator, written in Python at http://www.tenshu.net/terminator/ --82.139.117.245 (talk) 00:35, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing issues

I have added additional source and removed templates. As for notability, it is widely used by programmers - check usage statistics at Ubuntu popularity contest. --Radoslaw Burny (talk) 10:53, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The one given source is basically an advertisement. Reading WP:Notability, a single source isn't enough to consider. Per your assertions, there should be several WP:RS (no blogs, no anonymous comments, knowledgeable reviewers). The last attribute excludes your given source, by the way. TEDickey (talk) 11:01, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, it's possible there may be suitable sources. No one has provided any as yet. TEDickey (talk) 11:40, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, I was referring to the other program of the same name (that IP user has mentioned above), so I've reverted my change. OTOH, it's hard to find people writing about simple computer program - see cp for comparison. Despite it being a fundamental UNIX tool, there's only one documentation link. --Radoslaw Burny (talk) 19:26, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for cp, the way to improve that would be to reference first the standards, then point to contrasting implementations. The lifehacker source is flawed: the writer demonstrates (a) confusion regarding its relationship with gnome-terminal and (b) relies (as does the existing text of this topic) on the program's website when looking for things to say about it. Either attribute is a flag for me to disregard the source TEDickey (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For the script - I have some comments about that, but they'll be presented in another place (thanks for the reminder). TEDickey (talk) 00:53, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
