::Not annoying at all! I'll get on to it pronto. Actually knew very little about any of these guys before I started looking into it. They were just names on a list to me. But it's amazing what you can find out once you have a rummage around. Found loads of old racing books that had just been gathering dust in the cellar. And those Australian and NZ news sites are a goldmine. [[User:Peaky76|Peaky76]] ([[User talk:Peaky76#top|talk]]) 11:34, 30 April 2013 (UTC) |

Brocklesby Stakes
Hi Peaky. Thanks for starting this article. I have added a sentence and a reference on Donovan's win in 1888. I was also thinking of starting an article on Provideo (he was British Horse of the Year in 1984), which might help. Tigerboy1966 21:07, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Herr Beethoven (talk) 19:11, 10 July 2012 (UTC)Welcome, thanks etc!
Hi, I've only recently noticed you creating good horse racing articles although I see you've actually been around for a while. Great to have someone else around doing good quality horse racing stuff. I'm always willing to copy-edit articles, add in links, review stuff although I don't have much time these days for starting new articles, so if you need a hand or want to discuss anything on the subject please give me a shout via my talk page. Cheers! --Bcp67 (talk) 11:08, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yes, I've been around for a while, but I've recently found myself with some spare time so thought I'd try and put it to use. Horse racing is a professional and personal interest of mine, so it seemed a good place to start. It's a shame that wikipedia doesn't have the depth of articles on horse racing that it does on equivalent sports. I'm always quite surprised by some of the omissions. I will definitely give you a shout for advice. I'm still finding my way round a lot of wikipedia Peaky76 (talk) 12:12, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Ballabriggs, Imperial Commander
Good work on both articles. They certainly aren't stubs anymore. equineline is a good, reliable source for pedigrees. Tigerboy1966 22:43, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
The article Alice Plunkett has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — LuckyAim — - — Talk to Lucky — 06:41, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Source
This [1] is a good source of news stories on British Racing, especially in the late 19th and early 20th century. The NZ papers tended to reprint stories from the British ones, but as the British ones aren't generally available free on-line, this works very well. Tigerboy1966 19:47, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- That's excellent thanks very much. I will take a look. I likewise found some info on Loates in the New York Times that I couldn't find reported here. Peaky76 (talk) 22:06, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Have a star. Very impressed with all your work. Tommy Weston, Freddie Fox, Kempton Cannon... all articles that badly wanted doing. Tigerboy1966 21:32, 21 April 2013 (UTC) |
This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sam Loates, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://webmii.asia/Result.aspx/Sam/Loates.

DYK for John Oaksey
On 27 April 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article John Oaksey, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that horse racing commentator Lord Oaksey was once captain of Eton College's boxing team? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/John Oaksey. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Freddie Fox
I have added a bit more info and references to the Freddie Fox (jockey) article, I dont have any interest in horse racing but just like to improve articles when I see I can improve them. Fox is birth place is from the 1911 Census which agrees with the General Register Office Birth Index which gives the registration district that includes Berrington. Keep up the good work.
