Pimple Saudagar [ P.S ] is a area within the PCMC limits Pune, Maharashtra, India. Around 6 km from Hinjewadi IT park, 8 km from Pune University Circle and 15 km from the Pune Railway Station. Situated centrally between Aundh and Pimpri. The newly developed big BRTS road connecting Wakad and Nashik Phata passes through the middle of Pimple Saudagar(next to Deepmala Society corner). It is very much ahead of Aundh and Wakad.

Pimple Saudagar [ P.S ] can be said as the best residential area in Pune as Koregaon Park or Aundh and can be termed as the bestupcoming commercial as well as residential area in Pune. The area today is among the most plush and upmarket in the city, owing to extremely high real-estate prices resulting in the area to be of profound affluence. The price for a 3 BHK is about 95 lakhs or more than 1 Cr.

    • History

    Pimple Saudagar was an undeveloped village a few decades before, lying on the bank of the Pavana River.[1] In the year 1952, the village was unusual that over half the population derived a substantial proportion of their income outside agriculture.[2]

    In the last 15 years, huge amount of development happened in and around Pimple Saudagar and it is now one of the major residential areas in PCMC area. It initially developed around Hotel Govind Garden and Kunal Icon residency separately. Now, with a lot of ongoing development,. both these areas are almost merged.

    Pimple saudagar is the first choice destination for IT employees because of its vicinity to Hinjewadi IT park and also because of its urban setting compared to the less developed areas like Hinjewadi and wakad.

    All normal commodities are way too expensive in this area. Now days, many people call it in short form like, 'Saudagar or P.S'.

    Education

    Some primary schools and Pre-primary schools that are affiliated to state board have been developed in this town, in the past few years. Also many schools affiliated to national education boards, like Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, CBSE are present near this town. [3][4]

    On 30th Of December 2012 Silent candle march has been initiated by Resident of pimple Saudagar in memory of Delhi rape victim (Brave Girl) and his agenda was to spread awareness for safety of women. Name of the rally has given as “Silent Candle march” was joined by more than thousands of residents from Pimple Saudagar along with Senior Inspector Mr. Tayade. Rally was started from Shivar chowk at around 6:30 PM and ended near Dutt Mandir. One minute silent tribute has been given by gathered people of Silent Candle march then rally was addressed by Senior Inspector Mr. Tayade Sangavi Police Station where he has assured woman safety of this area and shared his mobile number.

    This rally was very peaceful march and it has been appreciated by local people and Police Dept. Sangavi.

    Health

    Since this is a hugely populated residential area, there are various hospitals and clinics in and around Pimple Saudagar .[5] Super Speciality Adita Birla Hospital is around 8 kilometers from here.
