Thea E. Smith is the president of the Columbia Music Company, which publishes sheet music for the classical guitar. Her first novel, She Let Herself Go, was published in 2002 and a second novel, Me, Myself, and Her is forthcoming.

Smith was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Westchester County, New York. She has lived in South America, Germany, New Zealand, North Carolina, Hawaii, and California, and currently makes her home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is the great grand-daughter of Arthur Powell Davis and the grand-daughter of Sophocles Papas
