There are several microbreweries in the United States named Revolution Brewing. The first-founded is located in Paonia, Colorado, the second in Chicago, Illinois, and the third in New Jersey.

History

Paonia's Revolution Brewing is located on the Western Slope of Colorado. Founded in 2008 at 325 Grand Avenue, Revolution Brewing started as a 3/4 barrel brewery. Today, Brewmaster Mike King brews five doors down the street at 302 Grand Avenue on a six-barrel system. They do not filter or pasteurize nor use chemical additives or finnings. Each batch is hand-stirred.

Chicago's Revolution Brewing was started as a brewpub in Logan Square in 2010 by owner Josh Deth. Deth attended the University of Michigan and became interested in brewing from his frequent visits to Bell's Brewery. Deth worked at Goose Island Brewery and connected with head brewmaster Jim Cibak at his time there. Cibak has worked at a number of breweries including Three Floyds Brewing.[1] The brewpub opened in February 2010 and the brewery was opened in 2012. Though the brewery holds a craft brewer's license with the state of Illinois, Revolution Brewing will exceed their limitation of 15,000 barrels this year by 8,000 barrels, creating unknown implications for the Chicago brewery. Other breweries affected are Half Acre and Two Brothers Brewing.[citation needed]

Revolution Brewing has received local and national recognition with awards from the Great American Beer Festival,[2] World Beer Cup,[3] and Time Out Chicago.[4]

Chicago's Revolution Brewing is located in Logan Square, a Northwest-side Chicago neighborhood, Revolution Brewing makes about 50 different beer styles each year, and the brewpub is located at 2323 N Milwaukee Ave. The brewery is located at 3340 N Kedzie Ave and does tours on Wednesdays through Fridays at 6PM, and on Saturdays at 4PM, 5PM and 6PM. Tours last about 40 minutes and include a tasting at the end.[citation needed]
