Herbert Louis Rooney[2] was a record producer who was responsible for producing songs by the Exciters and for writing[2] and producing[3] the sample staple Synthetic Substitution by Melvin Bliss.
Between 1964 and the mid-1980s Rooney was married to Brenda Reid[4]. They had one son, Cory Rooney, who has produced for the likes of Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez,[5] Marc Anthony, Thalia, Destiny's Child, and many more.
