Regina (Blakely) Hopper is President and CEO of America's Natural Gas Alliance, a Washington, DC-based advocacy group.[1] She was previously the executive vice president of the United States Telecom Association.[2] Immediately prior to joining the Telecom Association, Hopper was senior vice president of litigation communications at Weber McGinn.[1]

Regina Hopper speaks at national conferences,[3] such as the United States Conference of Mayors in June 2010, which endorsed her proposals.[4][5][6] In turn, Hopper praised the conference for a resolution that will improve air quality and emphasize US domestic energy development.[7] She has also appeared as a speaker at regional energy law conferences,[8][9] and writes op-ed pieces favoring natural gas policies and laws.[10]

Recognition

In 2012, CEO Update selected Hopper as one of the nation's top association CEOs. In that same year, the The Hill named her to its annual list of top lobbyists.[11]

Earlier careers

Hopper had several careers earlier in her life.

She was a beauty pageant contestant who won the Miss Arkansas pageant in 1983.[12] In 2009, Hopper returned as emcee of the show.[13]

She was a New York- and Washington, DC-based reporter, who won an Emmy Award,[1][3][14] with the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.[1][14][15]

Hopper is also an attorney[1] and a graduate of the University of Arkansas.[16]
