After making his professional debut for Fulham against Grimsby Town in 1990, Onwere was transferred in the summer of 1993 for £75,000 to Lincoln City F.C. He became a crowd favourite at Sincil Bank with his aggressive, all action midfield playing style before being taken to Blackpool FC in 1996 by the highly rated manager Gary Megson. Following a short period at Blackpool, Onwere then became new Barnet manager John Still's first signing at Barnet FC in August 1997 where he formed an integral part of the team who reached the play-offs in 1997/98. Udo Alozie Onwere (born 9 November 1971) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Active between 1990 and 2000, Onwere made nearly 200 appearances in the Football League.
