I understand Wikipedia's efforts to remain objective. And I certainly understand my earlier posts were too far on the promotional side. Everything I posted was true, but I can see how they could construed as biased and promotional. As I previously stated, I'm a new Wikipedia contributor and am still getting used to the rules and regs. However, as you agreed, the last round of edits were simply factual and without bias. If the purpose of this communication/research medium is the dissemination of information that is both objective and, more importantly, factual, then correcting misinformation, regardless of previous involvement, would seem to be a benefit for the community as a whole. Correct me if I am wrong. In the meantime, it is a disservice to Wikipedia, Sentry Siren, and the siren enthusiast community as a whole for false/inaccurate data to be online. My goal was to correct the errors in a timely fashion. Hopefully that can be made to happen. |

Emily Carmichael (Director/Animator)-Paren Change
Thanks Dan! The ravages of graduate school have left a mark as far as citations go I'm afraid. I wake up screaming "Footnotes!" once a month.
I'm so sorry to bother you with this, but I think I made a mistake with the identifying parens (Director, Animator). She's only ever directed films in which she's also written the screenplay so (Filmmaker) would be more accurate. Also she's only ever done animation for films so it seems easier to fold "animator" in with (Filmmaker) and simplify things. For the life of me though I can't figure out how to change it! If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Sorry again for bothering you with newbie fumbling and thanks for the quick responses. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FilmCriticAlpha (talk • contribs) 22:42, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Trauma Systems Therapy
Hi,
The reason I tried to change the article is because I actually work for Dr. Glenn Saxe, the founder of this treatment model. He wanted me to change the content to better reflect the website www.traumasystemstherapy.com
If the language is changed to sound less promotional- would it be alright for me to rewrite this article?
Staff.cscchair (talk) 20:14, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, Dr Saxe does not get to say what text appears in the Wikipedia article, even if he is the creator of the model. The article must be based on citations to reliable sources. Saxe's own website cannot be said to be a reliable source; rather we must rely on sources that have been peer-reviewed. Since you have a conflict of interest related to this topic, your best course of action is to comment on the talk page to point out any specific factual errors in the article, and allow independent editors to verify the errors and correct them. When doing so, you should provide updated sources indicating that the present article is incorrect. Updates merely to promote Dr Saxe's clinic will not be allowed. Re: Fireboy and Watergirl
Looking at your sandbox article, I don't think it's enough as is. Simply re-hosting a game doesn't seem to classify it under reliable, third-party coverage that would be required under WP:GNG and WP:WEB. Taking a look at something like Club Penguin, you can see there is coverage from newspapers and other news sites along with blogs that actually write about the subject and why it is notable. Of course, I recognize that not every game is going to be as popular as that, but I don't see anything from a quick google search that would indicate it would meet guidelines. Others in the community may disagree and come to a different consensus, but that's where I see it right now. Sasquatch t|c 18:32, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Red Leaf Poetry
Thank you so much for your help. I know this organization that exists. But the Award is the first of its kind in India. It is going to announce Call for Submission across India. Please do not create any link, but over a week's time I'll confirm eminent jury poets like Ranjit Hoskote, Arundhathi Subramanium are going to be the judges. It is a promised prize, already announced on twitter page by https://twitter.com/RLPoetryIndia . Please help.
Also check http://nnivedita.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/DSCN9712.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nuclear23 (talk • contribs) 20:00, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- A group's own twitter postings are hardly a reliable source for claims about this prize. And the nnivedita.com page you posted is a picture of a page from a magazine reporting about a group called "Potpourri", which appears to be little more than a poetry club meeting at a local book store. That proves nothing about nothing. If the group does manage to get the poets you've listed as judges for its contest, that might be notable, and an independent source might write about it. When that happens, we might be able to create an article about this club. But not yet. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:11, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Redundant
Thanks. Do you mean the mark of the beast page? Are you saying that all of what I said is on that page and that I don't need to add anything anywhere about what I said? DVTalk erased my stuff too. I told him Im knew and not religious but trying to add what ive heard religious people say that i didnt see on thee 666 or mark of the beast page, and asked how i can help us all not erase everything, but find a middle ground of what can stay, and said that I was trying to add the referrence sources, and asked for him to please let me have time to do it. What should I do? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidWayneJohnson (talk • contribs) 20:36, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- The main problem that we have here is that you've added a broad swath of original research: stuff you know about the topic without any indication of how you know it (i.e. the reliable sources upon which you base your knowledge). The secondary problem is that you've added the material to the wrong place: since there is already an article on Number of the beast, any in depth analysis of the subject should be added there, not at the 666 article, where the topic is only mentioned briefly. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:47, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Redo
Thanks. I agree. Thank you for saying why you did what you did. I took out some personal observations, just left the first part at the 666 article and took the rest to the number of the beast. I told DVTalk I wasnt trying to redo your edits without saying why I did. Is there anyother way I can source it? It's what I've concluded from reading The Bible as a nonreligious person as to what religious people are saying 666 is. How would I say it different if it's still wrong? What else can I source besides the KJV on how people say everyone gets a different opinion out of it? Do I need to publish a book and then referrence myself? Should I leave in the comparison to Citizen Kane and the Wizard of Oz and site them? I've never heard any christian say what I'm saying, but they wont say what "add it up" means for 666 and usually don't know what the Bible says they're suppose to know in relation to what the number page already says about Revelation already thinking the readers of that time knew what "add it up" meant. I read the Bible myself to try and find out and I cant find any other explanation for what adding up 600, 20-20-20, and 6 is besides what I said except similiar to what the number article already says about 666 being how many talents of gold Solomon got each year, which I think relates to the material wealth that I talked about. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidWayneJohnson (talk • contribs) 21:00, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, your own conclusions from your reading of the Bible don't carry much weight. You need to find a published author who has drawn the conclusion, and then cite that author. Alternatively, yes, you could publish your own conclusions in a reputable venue (a scholarly journal, or through a reputable publisher of scholarly texts), and then cite your own book. However, until then, your own ideas are just that, your own. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:09, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks
I see how my opinion is my opinion. I'll go back and make it singlular instead of saying "some" and "others." Is that what you mean? I see you erased my 666 contribution again. Is this why? How are my observations different from the other self observations that you didn't erase? I'm really asking. I'm not trying to be mean. Thanks for the help. You and DV made me see that saying "others" and "some" was misleading. If you dont want me to add my opinion I wont. What reputable source would you suggest I publish my ideas with? Thanks.DavidWayneJohnson (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- No, that won't work either. If it is your opinion, it is not really fit for inclusion in an encyclopedia. I have lots of opinions about things too, but this isn't the forum to post your own private opinions. If you want to start your own private blog about your personal interpretation of the Bible, go for it. But not here. As for "other self-observations", I have not reviewed the entirety of number of the beast for its sourcing. I generally keep an eye on major changes added by new users, as those tend to be the most problematic. So I found your changes, and found them to be problematic. If you feel there are other issues with the article, feel free to raise the issue on the talk page. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:44, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks again
I understand. I'm not going to change it anymore. Thanks for the advice about going to the talk page. As for the rest of the page being problamatic according to how I was, yes, a lot of the page would need to be erased then. Personally, I'm happy it says what it says either way. Again, thanks for everything. I'll take your advise. Thanks.DavidWayneJohnson (talk) 22:11, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Further information on why the content from The National Society of Leadership and Success will be deleted
Dear Dan61:
Good day! I thought I used an approved Wiki content writer to write the information about the Honor Society. Can you tell me where the content went wrong?
Thanks!
-Tracy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tracyawehringer (talk • contribs)
- Tracy, I had to go back into the archives for this one -- your page was marked for deletion over 4 months ago. I note that you recreated it as an articles for creation submission, and that your submission has been declined by another editor for the same reason I declined your original article: it reads like an advertisement for the organization. I had marked the original submission as blatant advertising. The present version you've written does not appear as blatant: it seems to lean more to the informative and less toward the pursuasive, but I can see how Lugia2453 (talk · contribs) might have arrived at his conclusion. Basically, your article reads like what I might expect to find on the organization's own website. What I would expect to see in a Wikipedia article is more information about the organization's impact, and less about its membership process or symbols.
- I'm not sure what you mean by "an approved Wiki content writer". If you mean that you created the article with the article wizard, that is no guarantee that the content you create with the wizard will be acceptable. The fact that the only references you cite in your new AFC submission are links to the organization's own website is also troubling. Articles require references from reliable third-party sources. I.e. someone else writing about the organization rather than the organization writing about itself.
- I hope this has proved useful. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:55, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Talkback
First of all Hello. Second, I am very sorry I have not yet figured how this all works with talkback and things like that. Also You have probably figured out that I am new to posting topics and new articles or however it is called. Now on topic, I have indeed wanted that article to be the Serbian translation of the page Tree Sort. I will soon if deleted repost it on the Serbian page of Wikipedia, and then after somehow link it to the original Tree Sort page in languages section, because I have yet to figure that out. Thank you for your time and i hope this clears up some things.

Stellar aberration (derivation from Lorentz transformation)
Hello WikiDan61
I agree with you in one point: the articles shouldn't exist parallel to each other: my article is an additional article to the main article. It's like a subpage. I started the article in German well before 19 May (1): at that time, there wasn't a solid STR derivation of the formula, neither in German nor in English (see "aberration of light" 04-18-2013 19:18 and my 04-18-2013 12:43 de.wikipedia.org draft). Now there is one, as there was a major rebuild of that article, but it uses the velocity-addition formula. The approach in this article uses the Lorentz transformation, which is more basic (beginners first get used to the Lorentz transformation) and it has a second advantage: it shows more clearly that the velocity of the star doesn't play a role. My article is an addition, mostly mathematical, that includes the derivation of the approximate formula and sample calculations. Is that interesting? I think it is! Is it important enough to inflate the main article? I think it is not. Perhaps wikibooks?
--AbiLtoC (talk) 18:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC) (or AbiLtoCen : as I wanted to have en.wikipedia.org as my home wiki, I created the new *en account today --AbiLtoCen (talk) 19:38, 22 May 2013 (UTC))
(1) Unfortunately the German version has been deleted today but not because that article would be invalid or a fork, but because: Eine Herleitung ist kein Enzyklopädie-Artikel (A derivation is not an encyclopedic article)
Trash Rock Deletion
Hi Dan, I am wondering why this was deleted as an "Attack Page". Can you give me a reason for it? I was not attempting to slander / attack any of the bands listed or fans of those bands, simply to point out that many people make fun of people who listen to that music even though they listen to it themselves.
Thanks, Martin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcollie3 (talk • contribs) 19:21, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- By its definition, the term "trash rock" denotes music that is bad, and laughable, and causes fans of that music to face derision. The inclusion of any band in that category is derisive. No reliable sources exist to define a genre called "trash rock" nor to place any band into such a genre. The term has also already been taken through AFD once before. - When an article is tagged for speedy deletion, it is because the tagger (me, in this case) felt that the article was unsalvageable. If I could have edited the article to address the problem, I would have. Instead, the article would have to be scrapped almost in its entirety and written from scratch. Should you choose to do that, you might want to look at some other articles about companies. Category:GA-Class company articles lists articles about companies that have been deemed good articles by the community; these should be used as examples of how to structure your own article.
- Things to avoid:
- inflated claims of importance
- inflated claims of history (if a company was formed in 2010 by splitting a former company that existed earlier, the company does not inherit all of the history of the prior company)
- words or phrases intended to entice a reader to either use the company's products or invest in the company.
- Good luck! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:17, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Karol D. Witkowski (Karl Witkowski)
Hello, I agree with you. Thanks for fixing my English. I just noticed on the right of the article, you added ref to Wikimedia Commons. He painted in more then one style, unfortunately I do not found "public free" photographs of his other work (he painted historic scenes in Paris and did some portraits in Poland, France and USA). Those 32 pictures in Gallery that all what I can show publicly about this painter (however I have seen almost 80 of his paintings, most of them are from auctioneers). About Karol is one more thing we should keep in mind. Up to now nobody wrote anything about him! There is no any list of his paintings. Art dealers using different names for same painting. Somebody should make one list and make it public! There are no books, about such clever man who need to leave his homeland, because foreign invaders. America became his new home, home of freedom, but after so many years we even do not have his own picture. Four months ago, the only story often I could read was shortly: American painter, born in Austria,... study with Matejko... I did great job to dig out all information I could about him. All that I tried to put together. And thanks for help from you too. First time in my life I heart about Karol Witkowski was about November 2012 and only because 20 years ago I bought his painting (a print) signed Wykowsky. There is no artist named Wykowsky. After discover Karl Witkowski I collect photos of his paintings and information about him. Today I know this is same person. He signed on beginning in USA under that name. In March 2013 I wrote small post-his biography on “americangallery.wordpress.com. Later on April 16, 2013 I read on what-when-how.com small Karl Witkowski biography with place of his birth (Poland, under Austria occupation, Galicia) and birth and death dates. He was born on August 16! That is my birthday too. I never knew about it before. This is something that will encourage me to work hard for this man! I wish I could write a book about his life and work, but... that is not easy for me, I do not know how to start, in addition my knowledge about him is still too little and I do not have public access to photographs of all his paintings.
Finally I agree with you, we do not have to show so many paintings in Gallery, unless I get some different stiles also. One more word about list of his paintings (just before gallery). Most of these paintings nobody saw yet! I got them from catalogs of copyright entries in USA. I am still looking for more. He probable did together over 200 paintings. My own list has shows 118 paintings (most of tem are not public). Sincerely mopiale Karol’s mentor.
- Your note brings up several issues:
- If no one has written about him, no books, no articles, etc, (i.e. no reliable sources) then he probably does not meet the criteria for inclusion. Writing based on what you know, rather than based on what has been published in reliable sources, is not what Wikipedia is all about.
- How is it possible that you are Witkowski's mentor, if he died in 1910? (Perhaps you had a different word in mind than mentor?)

I have just seen one of the moves by TenMuses on my watchlist. The editor seems familiar with wp expressions and tools and also appears to have gone straight in with an agenda contrary to the majority result of the recent RfC to use Vietnamese names. Conflict of interests: Land of Promise
Please tell me which section of the article Land of Promise: An Economic History of the United States is subjective. It is an university project and I am supposed to write that article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LOPAEHOTUS (talk • contribs)
- You should choose a different user name then. The name you have chosen (being the initials of the book) implies a connection to the book. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:20, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
I see. I chose the name so my professor would always know that it was me who edited the page by checking its history. I'm sorry!
- Not a problem. A simple misunderstanding. You might wish to put some text on your user page explaining your username, and specifically explaining that you are not associated with Michael Lind (the author of the book), but have simply chosen the username for your university project. (You might consider a less single-purpose username, in case you choose to hang around and work on other subjects at Wikipedia.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:40, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
Jamel Holley
I know it says to answer you on my page, but I was unsure of how to do that, as I am obviously new to Wikipedia. I apologize.
Mayor Holley is also one of the front runners to run with New Jersey State Senator Barbara Buono as her Lieutenant Governor when she faces current Governor Chris Christie in the gubernatorial election on November 5th.
He is an enormously influential politician in New Jersey, and that is not an exaggeration. Also, his brother is about to have a movie made about his (Jesse's) life as a reality show winner-turned-NFL player.
Thanks for your time.

BlueGrace Logistics
This change was to correct an incorrect corporate title for Blue-Grace Group. It is the same entity, but is properly spelled BlueGrace Logistics.
I am working to update the information for this page as it is outdated and am adding more references.
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by JLJ13BG (talk • contribs) 17:02, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Understood. The company does not appear notable, no matter what name we use for the article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:04, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you. I provided a reference from the 2012 Inc. 5000, which provided documentation that the company BlueGrace Logistics was 20th overall for the fastest growing companies in the nation and first overall in the 700 billion dollar logistics and transportation industry. [1]
JLJ13BG (talk) 17:21, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Listings in "fastest growing company" lists are rarely sufficient to denote notability. They are invariably just that, a listing, not significant coverage as required by the guidelines. In any case, the article has been nominated for deletion; any commentary you have on the matter should be directed to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BlueGrace Logistics. Shpoople
In all due respect "Shpoople" is a real sport and there is no reason to delete this page. (Unless you could give me a reason)In all due respect. Camnewton2 (talk) 18:44, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

- I said reliable sources. Urban Dictionary is not considered a reliable source. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:53, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
What would you say is a reliable source?Bigfoot has its own wikipedia page,We don't know if it is real. Camnewton2 (talk) 19:39, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Bigfoot is a notable case of a cryptozoological phenomenon: probably not real, but clearly notable for the amount of coverage received. Shpoople is not broadly covered in reliable sources, and the definition at Urban Dictionary is clearly a hoax (the most popular game in recent history?? surely I think not!) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:07, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes I agree,But Shpoople is a swedish sport,Most popular in recent Swedish history. Camnewton2 (talk) 20:47, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- You'll need a more reliable source than Urban Dictionary to back up that statement. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:48, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Well im working on a page called "Why?" a 1971 short film featuring O.J. Simpson and Tim Buckley. Is that atleast alright? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Camnewton2 (talk • contribs) 20:50, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Tennessee Christian University
I am trying to provide information that can sustain my claim. I am not trying to grind an axe I just want everyone to know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FraudAlerter (talk • contribs) 19:21, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Well, actually, you are trying to grind an axe. You got burned, and now you want others to know about this problem. Your very name says what you're here for. Unfortunately, if the only thing you have to say about this organization is that they are a fraudulent operation, whether or not you have the documentation to back that up, that's not a valid encyclopedia article. There are websites available for you to go make your claim known, but not here. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:29, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Aside from being an attempt to grind an axe, the article was also a copy/paste, with names changed to mention this university instead of the school mentioned in the original page - so this article was also a copyvio, and itself likely fraudulent as it was using negative prose about a different subject and mentioning this one instead. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 19:45, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

- The article has been nominated for deletion. The deletion is not immediate; if there are sources to be found, there is time to find them. But you should know that creating your own autobiography is strongly discouraged. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:04, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Initially, the user claimed that the book has just been released, so I concluded that he was trying to make publicity for it by creating an article about a location found in the book. (Afterwads, he changed his mind and claimed that the book hasn't yet been published and wouldn't be for months, in which case there's nothing to promote.) Disambiguation link notification for June 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Armando Marques Guedes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Atta (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

- You're very welcome. This appears to be a major international firm with deep roots. Reliable sources should be easy to find. But you'll need to find them and include them, or the article may well be deleted. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:10, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Removal of new PC Plus loyalty program page
About a week ago I posted a page about the PC Plus loyalty program that was removed because it was deemed promotional content. I agree with the decision and should have done more research before posting. I would still like to have a page up about the program and am working on revising my text to be in-line with Wikipedia guidelines but fear that, because I do work with Loblaws occasionally, that I'm still in a conflict of interest position. Is it possible to engage someone more impartial to author the page within Wikipedia's guidelines?
Thanks in advance!
Kmknights (talk) 18:45, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest that you follow one of two paths:
- Create the article in your user space (for example, at User:Kmknights/PC Plus loyalty program) and then ask for an independent editor to review it prior to moving to live article space. I'll be glad to perform the review for you when you're ready, or you can ask any other editor with whom you're comfortable.
- Create the article at WP:Articles for creation (specifically, at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/PC Plus loyalty program). In this case, add the {{AFC submission}} template to the top of the page (check the template's documentation for proper setting of the various parameters). That way, any of the number AFC submission reviewers will be able to evaluate the article.
- Good luck! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:02, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Good WikiDan61,
As a new contributor to Wikipedia, I am still getting used to the rules and regs. I totally understand that advertising and promotional materials are not permitted. However, the last round of edits I made to Sentry Siren's page were strictly fact and were actually correcting misinformation that existed on the original version of the page I found yesterday. I am going to republish my last round of edits - I sincerely hope everyone will stop undoing my edits as the sole intent of the post is to correct bad information regarding the different Sentry models.
Sincerely,
Awolk1986
