With an age of more than 150 years, All Saints is the oldest school in Hyderabad and is one of the twenty oldest schools in India. The school celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2007.[citation needed] The school has a strength of over 4000 students and staff strength of about 150.[citation needed] The principal of the school is Rev. Bro Shajan Anthony. The school has been visited by many Prominent Personalities, Sir A.P.J Abdul Kalam Being One Of Them.[citation needed]

Admissions

Though the school is a Catholic Minority Institution, its admission is open to all students irrespective of caste, creed, religion or gender. For admission into Kindergarten, the school follows a joint admission policy together with Little Flower High School Hyderabad and St Paul's High School, Hyderabad, St Mark's Boy's Town, HYD, All Saints High School, which is also run by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel.[citation needed]

Every year in January, one of the schools conducts the admissions procedure for Kindergarten. It involves an interview of both the student and the parents. The number of students who apply for admission far exceeds the number of positions available; hence, it is a very competitive process. Students are allowed to state their choice among the three schools but their choice is not guaranteed. A twenty-percent quota is generally reserved for economically disadvantaged students.[citation needed]

Admission to all other classes is done on a case-by-case basis by the school itself as per the availability on merit basis. Students who not only have a strong academic standing but also display talent in sports, literary or cultural activities are given priority in admission.[citation needed]

History of the School

All Saints institution was started in 1855 by Rt. Rev Daniel Murphy, the vicar Apostolic Hyderabad. It was then known as the college of All Hallows after his Alma Mater in Ireland. It took nearly fifty years of dedicated service to nurture it into what's today called the All Saints' Institution.

Rt. Rev. Mgr. Caprotti was its first Rector appointed in 1858. At its infancy, the school had a humble beginningwith very few students on rolls. From 1908, the school recorded tremendous growth and progress with Father Garbelli as its 8th Rector.

In 1943, Rev. Bro. M. Paul, an able administrator, took over as the first Indian Rector, and developed it as one of the best Secondary Schools, Both academically and infrastructure wise in the Nizam's Dominion, with the dawn of Independence in 1947 there came one of its most revered and best-known Rector's Brother John of God.

Under successive Rectors and teams of dedicated staff, it has grown by leaps and bounds, developing the much needed human resources thereby, contributing service personnel to the state administration. Many a student who left the portals of the institution has distinguished himself either in Administration, defense, Police, Medicine, Engineering and other state and private Services. This Institution produced quite a few outstanding sportsmen of National and International repute.

Due to inadequate accommodation, and to meet the growing demands for admission and also to mark the Centenary Celebrations of the Institution. Four Branch Viz. Little Flower High School, St. Peter's High School (Housing the present primary sections), St. Pauls High School and St. Mark's Boys Town Each with its own uniqueness were started 1953 and 1955.
