Leckwith (Template:Lang-cy) is a district of western Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. It is home to Cardiff City F.C.'s home ground Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff International Sports Stadium, Fitzalan High School and Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch (a Welsh-medium primary school). The area around the Cardiff City Stadium has seen a retail park develop with well-known stores such as Asda, Costco, Next and Marks & Spencer.

Etymology

The name Leckwith probably derives from the personal name Helygwydd (possibly the name of a saint).[1]

Transport

Leckwith is directly accessed from the A4232 by-pass linking it to Culverhouse Cross and Cardiff Bay. Cardiff Bus has its main depot in the area. The 12/13 bus routes and the 1/2 Bay Circle route passes through Leckwith.

Leckwith is served by Ninian Park railway station with services northbound to Radyr via Fairwater and southbound to Cardiff Central.
