Why is this article even here? There is no East Asian Americans or Southeast Asian Americans article. I think some Pak just wanted to associate their group with Indians. --Dangerous-Boy
There are a fair number of cultural commonalities (between North Indians and Pakistanis with regards to language (the mutually intelligible Hindi and Urdu, and Punjabi, culture, and cuisine), or between Indian Bengalis and Bangladeshis, or between Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil speakers.
And then there's the Desi identity.
A South Asian identity in America, whether you like it or not, certainly exists.
