Soverato is a town and comune in the province of Catanzaro in the Calabria region of southern Italy.

Geography

Soverato sits on the Ionian Sea, in the Gulf of Squillace. Nearby there is a string of villages along the white beaches of the gulf like Montepaone, Davoli and Isca Marina.

The Giardino Botanico Santicelli botanic gardens were built on a former waste site in 1980. The town is bordered by Montepaone, Petrizzi and Satriano. Soverato can be reached via the Lamezia Terme International Airport within a 35 to 40 minute drive.

Things To Do

Soverato, a sleepy sea-side town, comes alive during the summer season when many bars, cafes and gelaterias (ice cream parlours) are open late into the night. During the winter, these businesses are limited to standard Italian working hours.

Things to do in Soverato include:

1) Walking along the lungomare (sea front).

2) Visiting the aquarium.

3) Consuming locally produced ice cream.

4) Shopping in one of the many shops and boutiques.

5) Sea Diving
