Andrew H. Leman (born 1966) is an American actor, writer, designer, director, and producer.
Career
According to his H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society biography, Andrew Leman "earned his MFA in acting from the University of Illinois." Groups he has acted with include Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Shaw Chicago, The Cypress Group, and Defiant Theatre.[1]
Leman has worked as a prop designer on films such as Galaxy Quest and Call of Cthulhu[2] as well as for plays at the Defiant Theatre.[3] He designs fonts for the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society[1] and sells fonts independently.[3]
H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society work
Leman is a founding member of the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society. In 1988, he wrote and directed an adaptation of "The Statement of Randolph Carter". Leman and Sean Branney wrote A Shoggoth on the Roof, a Lovecraftian musical, and co-wrote, directed, and produced a short mockumentary film of a company putting it on. Leman also co-produced and directed the society's Call of Cthulhu adaptation; and co-wrote and co-produced the society's The Whisperer in Darkness film. He acted in Cthulhu and Whisperer and did voice acting in the society's Dark Adventure Radio Theatre productions.[1]

Leman has also done voice acting for H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast. His full-text readings of "The Call of Cthulhu," "The Temple", "The Picture in the House," and The Haunter of the Dark" are available on their website. Additionally, Leman did short readings to accompany episodes of "The Challenge from Beyond," "The Shadow Out of Time," "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," "The Dunwich Horror," "The Colour Out of Space," "The Call of Cthulhu," "He," "The Rats in the Walls," "Herbert West-Reanimator," "The Music of Erich Zann," "Ex Oblivione," "The Nameless City," "The Picture in the House," and "Dagon" ; and has appeared as a guest on the show to discuss "The Whisperer in Darkness", "Under the Pyramids," and "The Statement of Randolph Carter."[4]
Writing
Leman wrote a guidebook, In the Time of Lovecraft, geared toward helping role-players of Lovecraftian games understand the 1920s and 1930s.[5] He has also collaborated on multiple Call of Cthulhu role-playing supplements published by Chaosium.

Awards
Andrew Leman was part of a Defiant Theatre ensemble to receive Joseph Jefferson citations for Puppetry and Masks in The Skriker.[6]
His 2005 film The Call of Cthulhu also received numerous film festival awards.
