The hotel was built in the 1920's in order to house the movie stars which came to New Port Richey each year, the hotel flourished for its first few years on the night of opening the hotel opened its doors for over 8000 citizens which was the biggest gathering the city has ever held. the hotel fell down in the great depression but still worked while changing owners time and time again today the city bought it in 2006 from jewish family services which before it was used to house the mentaly insane from 2003-2006. in 2012 the city let in the citizens to do a clean up, most damage to the hotel is not diteration but vandalism. there is also a rumor that there is a hidden room and secret tunnel to the river used during the prohibition to smuggle in moonshine and prostitutes. |

The Hacienda Hotel is a historic site in New Port Richey, Florida. It is located at 5621 Main Street. On October 24, 1996, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Thomas Reed Martin.
