''"...inhabits deep waters in the world's temperate and tropical oceans. Preferring cooler waters,..."'' — doesn't seem to make sense somehow. This image on the DE wikipedia claims to be in the public domain: [1]. I don't think it is, but my understanding of copyright law was reference to US government sources is poor. If anybody can confirm it could they upload it to the commons, as it is a good pic. Yomanganitalk 22:46, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- As far as I have understood, pictures published by e.g. NOAA is free to use, many of the shark pictuers in wikipedia is from NOOA. So should be ok. Stefan 04:10, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed human kills
There's a source for confirmed human kills. By inference, this means that blue sharks attack humans. As such, I've removed the "citation needed" tag from the statement "Conversely, blue sharks are considered dangerous and have attacked humans." CHawc (talk) 12:04, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
the article implies that blue sharks can be studied in the great Salt Lake- which is devoid of fishes due to it's high salinity. This is very unclear to someone reading the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.32.233.180 (talk) 00:37, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
The number of attacks to human (including fatal ones) does not seem to agree to the one in the reference provided: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks/Statistics/species2.htm (it is true that now the data in the reference applies to 2009, not 2008, but still the difference seems too large!

Reduced the word count by about 12%, moved towards a more common outline, and added {{harv}} referencing. As the most widespread shark, this article needs a lot of development to reach its potential. Lfstevens (talk) 01:42, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
tropical... or preferring cooler waters?
