Olurotimi Akinosho (born November 30, 1988), better known by his stage name, Rotimi, is a singer-songwriter, actor and model. From 2011 to 2012 he starred as Darius Morrison on the Starz Network original drama series "Boss". Rotimi is also the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of FrontRoSeat Productions.

Early life and education

Rotimi was born on November 30, 1988, in Maplewood, New Jersey to Nigerian parents, and attended Columbia Senior High School before studying at Northwestern University,[1] graduating with Communications a minor in Business in 2010.

Career

Acting

Rotimi is known for his work on the Starz network series Boss as drug dealer Darius Morrision.[2] Rotimi also appeared on the CBS pilot episode, “Cooper & Stone.”(2011).

Rotimi made a guest appearance on the season finale of VH1's T.I. & Tiny The Family Hustle reality show.

He also appeared in R&B singer Keyshia Cole's music video Trust and Believe as Cole's unfaithful boyfriend.

Music

A contemporary R&B artist, Rotimi released two digital mixtapes, titled "The Resume" (March 8, 2011), and "While You Wait" (November 30, 2011). His videos have been featured on international and U.S. based entertainment media including MTV, VH1 Soul and MTV Base.

Rotimi has performed on stage, opening for Jennifer Hudson, T.I., Estelle and NERD, as well as performing on BET’s show 106 and Park[3] Rotimi garnered music placement with “I’m the One” on the first episode of “Boss”.

Fashion

Rotimi is the lead model/spokesperson of rapper T.I.’s AKOO Clothing[4] 2012 Spring/Summer campaign, April 2, 2012.
