The Sony Xperia Go is a mid-range smartphone. The Xperia Go is IP Code IP67-certified with water- and dust-proofing (up to 1 meter for 30 minutes) and has a 3.5-inch HVGA display with capacitive multi-touch support and uses the Sony Mobile Bravia engine. It's equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash which is capable of shooting up to HD 720p videos and also capturing high-resolution stills. The Xperia Go is powered by a ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset with 1 GHz Dual-core processor and uses a Mali 400 GPU. Additionally, it comes with 8 GB of internal storage, (4 GB system-reserved + 4 GB usable) and it can be further expandable up to 32 GB using micro-SD cards.[1]
The Sony Xperia Go will be launched in US under the name of Xperia Advance.
It ships with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) preloaded with an official OTA (Over The Air) upgrade to Android 4.0. It received Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on April 24, 2013[2] after a 1 month delay by Sony.
